Operating, Cleaning and Calibration Procedure for WaterBath

1. OBJECTIVE
To lay down the procedure for operation, Cleaning and Calibration of Water Bath

2. SCOPE
This procedure is applicable to Quality Control Department

3. RESPONSIBILITY
• Officer QC
• Manager QC

4. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
• Proper handling the instrument.
• Don’t switch on the main board with wet hands

5. PROCEDURE
5.1. OPERATION
5.1.1 Connect the power supply.
5.1.2 Ensure the water level in water bath. It should be sufficient to pour the heating element.
5.1.3 Witch “ON” main power supply and instrument mains.
5.1.4 Adjust the temperature by rotating the temperature knob or pressing the buttons
given for temperature adjustment.
5.1.5 The temp sensor will maintain the set temperature during use of water bath
5.1.6 Switch OFF the instrument mains and main power supply after use
5.2. CLEANING
Frequency: Once in a week
5.2.1 Switch “OFF” the mains.
5.2.2 Remove the lid from the water bath.
5.2.3 Wash the lid properly with purified water.
5.2.4 Remove the water from the water bath and wash the water bath with purified water and mop with clean dry cloth.
5.2.5 Fill purified water up to ¾th height of the bath.
5.2.6 Put the lid of the bath.
5.2.7 After completion of cleaning of water bath, record in log book.
5.3 CALIBRATION
Frequency: Once in a month
5.3.1 Switch “ON” main power supply and instrument mains.
5.3.2 Set the temperature at 37C
5.3.3 The temp sensor will maintain the set temperature; check the temperature using calibrated thermometer and again check it after 10minutes.
5.3.4 Follow the step 5.3.2 and 5.3.3 for 50C and 90C
5.3.5 Maintain the record on calibration log book
